FINAL PROJECT

Thumbnail

Before starting off, I created a thumbnail for the animatic. This process was done on an A4 paper. I used a pen for the thumbnails so that I don't make too many corrections. The idea for this is to not focus too much on the details and focus on composition. I ended up with 2 pages.

Storyboard

I used a storyboard template I found online. It didn't have the description box like usual template does so I used a text box and place it below the frames. I felt skeptic since I feel like my animatic is going to end up more than 2 minutes. I tried to cut out as much as I can but it doesn't really sit well for me to have some scenes left out since it's important to the story.

The storyboard is done in Clip Studio Paint and I ended up with 7 pages.

Animatic

The animatic process was time consuming for me since I tend to fix my drawings a lot. But after a while I got used to it and was able to speed up my process. The animatic was also done in Clip Studio Paint. There are some inconsistencies with the line width since some scenes are done in different weeks. I cut out the last part where Yumeko stretched before entering the girl's dream again since my animatic already exceeded 2 minutes.

Anyways, all the frames are then compiled to after effects where I edited it a little. Not much work are done in the sound effects, the most prominent sound effect is probably the snap since that's how Yumeko summons a portal to the dream world. The music I used is '...' which is a Royalty free music. For the dark and scary ambience background sound, I looked it up in YouTube and chose the best suited music for the scene.

FEEDBACK

When I asked for feedback for the finished animatic, Mr. Kamal compliments the visuals, saying that it looks great. The music however could be further improved.

REFLECTION

This was my first time creating a proper animatic! I enjoyed the process and wouldn't mind doing it the second time hahha. I learnt on how to do things more efficiently and speed up the drawing process. Overall I had a good time, and I think the results are okay. Pls give me an A+!!!!
