INSTRUCTIONS
ART DIRECTION
At the beginning of the week, we were assigned to propose a re-imagined art direction strategy for the game “Among Us” without altering the original narrative plots and game mechanics.
The design output should be presented in a compelling form of communication platform to deliver a convincing idea and the objective of the new art direction.
We need to keep in mind that we are not tasked to change existing players’ views on the game. So we must make use of existing lore and assets to our advantage by expanding these to fit the gameplay with playful experiences. Think of creating a moment of clarity, fun, a break from the world, dynamic, immersive, new experience in your proposed art direction.
Game Observation
We start this by conducting observation studies on the game 'Among Us' and 'Goose Goose Duck'. This is done by playing the game itself and take note of any observation findings from the two games.
Here is our group listing:

- Wong Shu Xun, Gladys / 0355293
- Derin / 0354969
- Konomi Hoshikawa / 0356929
- Adifa Putri Harisyam / 0358362

Stylization
During the following week, our assignment was to establish the art style's stylization. The outcomes of our exploration are presented here. The key takeaway from the slides is that we opted for a dark-humor style, drawing inspiration from the Omori art style infused with futuristic elements. This decision is reached through multiple explorations.
The following are my contributions during this phase.

Proposal
Here are my contributions for this project phase. In our proposal, we've decided to include 2 sprites, following a similar approach to the Omori game, which features distinct sprites—one for cutscenes and another for the overworld.

Finalization
Characters
I collaborated with Arnusha on the character designs. Initially, I was tasked with handling the characters while she focused on the backgrounds. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, I ended up working on the backgrounds instead. I completed around 1/8 (?) of the total characters while Arnusha primarily handled the rest. She did an excellent job incorporating my style into the overall art direction!

Backgrounds
Before delving into making the backgrounds, our group brainstormed ideas for the background:1. Cafeteria
- Incorporate a hidden blender under the table where meetings take place, replacing the button with a switch.
- The cafeteria has potted plants since fruits get their nutrients from there.
- Central seed incubator representing the birthplace of fruits
- Akin to a greenhouse symbolizing life. Powerhouse? Source of sources.
- Replace wires with vines.
- Include a tree within the electrical area.
- Consider adding more lighting for enhanced ambiance.

FEEDBACK
REFLECTION
The past 14 weeks have been a continuous grind. I believe I fulfilled my responsibilities effectively, and overall, the outcomes are satisfactory. Ms. Anis appreciated our successful integration of the Omori style into our reimagined Among Us game.
